Landscape Labourer

Job Description & Main Duties

• Assist the landscaping team on soft and hardscape installations (including but not limited to: walkways, patios, walls, armour stone etc.)
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite
• Operating and maintaining equipment, hand tools, wheelbarrows, etc.
• Wear and use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Complete other tasks assigned to them by supervisors & management

Skills and Requirements

• Physical stamina & endurance is a must
• Plant knowledge beneficial but not necessary
• Positive attitude, self-starter, ability to prioritize tasks, takes initiative and direction, a good team player
• Strong communication skills
• Basic arithmetic
• Willingness to learn
• Attention to details, strong problem solving and time-management skills
• Adapt to a continuously changing work environment and a moderate stress level

Availability and Hours Requirements

• Seasonal work (starting March/April through to November/December)
• Hours of operations vary but are usually between 7am - 7pm daily, 5-6 days a week.
• Candidates will need to be available to work any days and times throughout the 6 days of the week (Monday - Saturday)
  

Physical Requirements

• Capable to perform fast-paced, physically demanding work including prolonged standing/walking (8+ shift)
• Repetitive motions and heavy lifting up to and over 50lbs
  

Working Environment Requirements

• Can handle working in bright sun, humidity, hot/cold temperatures (sometimes extreme), wind/rain/snow/etc, in multiple seasons for prolonged periods of time
• Capable to perform fast-paced, physically demanding work including prolonged standing/walking (8+ shift)
