Heirloom Organic. The entire plant is edible but preference is for the young, long, dark green onion shaped leaves with their mild onion flavour. The delicate leaves are used in salads, soups, stews, omelettes and dips. The stunning purple-blue flowers are used in salads and as colourful garnishes. Chives are a good choice for pollinator gardens as the flowers attract bees with their large supply of pollen. Plants grow in clusters to 10" high. Perennial hardy to Zone 3.
